About the event
Denny Abbey has a rich history, it was originally founded in 1159 as a Benedictine monastery, as a dependent of Ely Abbey. It later played host to the Knights Templar and the Poor Clares. This summer you can travel back in time 1000 years as members of Grantanbrycg bring to life the early medieval fens. From fishing and food to woodworking and weaving, you'll witness first-hand how our ancestors lived. Each day the abbey grounds will ring out with the clash of swords as our warriors take to the battlefield.
