About the event
Marking the historical Viking raid of AD 870 and celebrating the discovery of a Saxon cross at Church of St. PeterClick to open side panel for more information, our raiders and settlers are taking over Church End Field!
Viking Longship on the Cam: Watch out for The Bear, Regia Anglorum’s flagship 33-foot Viking ship (which featured in How to Train Your Dragon!), as she sails up and down the River Cam!
Living History Encampment: Step into our authentic Dark Age camp featuring traditional crafts, horn carving, eel catching, ancient board games, open-fire cooking, and weaving.
Skirmishes & Church Raid: Experience high-energy combat displays, sword clashes, and an afternoon assault as the Vikings "rampage" around the historic church grounds!
Post-Battle Refreshment: After defending (or raiding) the minster, join us at the local pub right next door for a well-earned drink!
