About the event

The Wirral Viking festival is an immersive, inclusive, family friendly event that celebrates the Norse heritage of the Wirral peninsula.

Take the opportunity to learn about the vast historical significance of the Wirral's’ Norse heritage & history, including its concentration of Norse place names, including Thing wall, which in Ancient Norse translates to “Assembly Field” and the significance of Thors’ Stone in Thurstaston.

Using a combination of re-enactments, immersive story telling & educational talks, we will tell the story of the Wirral Vikings who settled here in 902AD as well as offering visitors the opportunity to learn about the Ancient Norse myths and legends told throughout the Ancient Norse world.
